It's important to honor those that move you!

She was 71. I was 30. And she could see something in me I completely missed in myself.

It was 2005 in Black Mountain, North Carolina. I owned a thriving landscape design company called Ancient Grace, and while I was busy creating beauty across Buncombe County, I had no idea how to actually run a business.

One day, she offered to invest in it. One year later, I was in a position to sell. Someone made an offer, and I took it. I sold because I was running from the work it took to really run something meaningful. I ran because I didn't know what I didn't know. I couldn't sustain what I had built, and this scared me.

I ran. And I sold too soon. It’s a lesson I will never forget.

What I didn't know then was that her offer wasn't really about the business. It was a woman saying, " You are worth more than you can see right now.”

That moment has lived in me for twenty years. It's part of why I wrote my upcoming book. It's part of why I work with women today.

Over the years, I've been guided by five women I call Wisdom Runners, mentors who showed up in business, yoga, meditation, and life at exactly the right moment. Not always when I asked. Always when I needed it. They didn't just teach me skills. They helped me build the sovereignty I stand in today. In my work and in myself.

Women helping women isn't just a nice idea. It's a force. When someone who believes in you stands next to you, bold moves stop feeling impossible; they feel natural and authentic.
